Before and after: putting up walls, taking down snow

Mostly pictures today. It has been ridiculously cold and snowy. The cold is more of an impediment than the snow, since we don’t have central heat yet!, but the snow does slow us down. I mean, how much work can you get done after snow removal? Well, a little anyways. We got two more walls of V-notch done yesterday, when it was a balmy 20 degrees. We actually are BARELY going to make it with the salvaged material. One small wall to go, and we are done! However, that wall requires us to first re-build the last window, so it’ll be a while…

Super (Snow) Bowl 2015!

If you have been paying attention to the news this week, you know that there was a blizzard (a.k.a. Snowmageddon) on Wednesday. We only got about 18″ of snow here, and it was wonderful, light, fluffy stuff, but we had howling winds. On top of that, we got another foot dumped on us just two days later. (And by the way – we are supposed to get another foot tomorrow!). So we went out to the cabin today for snow removal duties, now that it stopped snowing long enough to leave the house! Here are some photos – it was a clear, cold, sparkling day, and it sure was gorgeous in the woods.

Next week: progress on our French Doors. Yes, we’ve been working on them this whole time, and they are almost free of old paint and goo!
